They do not seem to consider the mass clearing of millions of acres of virgin forest, to grow crops. clearing just one acre kills millions of organisms and destroys the habitat for all living things, except for the mono-crop planted and has the potential to destroy the soil life too.
Grow your own, amongst nature; eat feral meat shot on the hoof (and not farmed) in preference, or eat meat from people who run a few animals in a patch of forest, where birds and other wildlife can also live.
